Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Policy Statement

People Group Services Limited (“the Company”) is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity and transparency, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against modern slavery and human trafficking taking place anywhere within our business operations or supply chains.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, debt bondage and human trafficking. We are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships.

This policy is made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reflects our ongoing commitment to compliance with UK law and best practice corporate governance standards.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All directors, officers and employees of People Group Services Limited
  • Temporary workers and contractors engaged through our payroll or joint employment models
  • Agency workers and subcontractors
  • Consultants, professional advisers and service providers
  • Suppliers and supply chain partners
  • Any other third party acting on behalf of the Company

People Group Services Limited operates within the professional employment, payroll, joint employment and workforce compliance sector across the United Kingdom.

Our services include:

  • Compliance verification services

  • Office and facilities suppliers

Given the sectors in which we operate — including education, healthcare, social care, logistics and professional services — we recognise an inherent risk in extended labour supply chains and therefore apply enhanced due diligence procedures.

Our Commitments

We commit to:

  • Ensuring no forced, bonded or involuntary prison labour is used in our operations.
  • Ensuring no worker is required to lodge deposits or identity papers as a condition of employment.
  • Ensuring all workers are paid lawfully, in accordance with UK National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage regulations.
  • Ensuring freedom of movement and the right to terminate employment in accordance with contractual and statutory provisions.
  • Ensuring working hours comply with UK employment legislation.
  • Ensuring no child labour is used within our business or knowingly within our supply chain.
  • Ensuring workers are treated with dignity and respect.

Due Diligence Procedures

To mitigate risk, the Company:

  • Conducts right-to-work verification checks in accordance with UK Home Office guidance
  • Performs supplier onboarding due diligence and compliance assessments
  • Engages only with regulated financial institutions
  • Maintains Professional Passport, accreditation and external compliance audits (where applicable)
  • Conducts risk-based reviews of labour supply chains
  • Implements contractual provisions requiring compliance with anti-slavery laws

Suppliers must confirm:

  • They comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • They maintain their own anti-slavery policies
  • They permit audit rights where appropriate

Risk Assessment

We recognise potential risk areas may include:

  • Labour-intensive sectors such as healthcare, social care and education supply
  • Multi-layer subcontracting arrangements
  • Overseas technology or support service providers

Risk mitigation measures include:

  • Transparent PAYE payroll systems
  • HMRC reporting compliance
  • Clear contractual structures
  • Whistleblowing mechanisms
  • Ongoing monitoring of supply chain integrity

Reporting Concerns

All employees and stakeholders are encouraged to report concerns regarding modern slavery or unethical labour practices.

Reports may be made:

  • Directly to a Company Director
  • Through our internal whistleblowing procedure
  • Confidentially and without fear of retaliation

Any reported breach will be investigated promptly and appropriately.

Training and Awareness

We provide awareness to relevant staff regarding:

  • Indicators of forced labour
  • Ethical recruitment practices
  • Supply chain vigilance
  • Escalation procedures

Senior management retains responsibility for ensuring appropriate internal understanding of risk.

Breach of Policy

Any employee found to be in breach of this policy may face disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

Any supplier found to be in breach may have their contract terminated immediately and may be reported to relevant authorities.
